Attachment in eSign API

When using eSign API/SDK, can we somehow enable the option to attach the template PDF of the template/document to be signed via the developer console? If yes, then how?

I know that after completing the signing process, the signer receives an email that contains the signed template. But in my case, I want to include the unsigned doc/template as an attachment in the sign request email sent to the signer!!

Hi there. I've reached out to the Docusign team and they've replied with the following:
A template contains one or more documents. If a customer wants to create an envelope based on the template this article walks through how: https://developers.docusign.com/docs/esign-rest-api/how-to/request-signature-template-remote/
The developer console from a DocuSign perspective is used for building extension applications. More info on it here: https://developers.docusign.com/extension-apps/developer-console-overview/
The developer console is a developer tool, not an interface meant to host signing sessions.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thanks for the reply. But my question is that I have a template and along with the signature request email (in which the link to review the document is shown), can I attach the template doc as an attachment (the similar way in which the signed pdf comes after signing a document)

Hi there. Their response is as follows: No, what you are looking for isn't a feature of the platform as far as they are aware.
If you wanted the unsigned document(s) you could simply download it when they are originally signing. Hope this helps.

    Hi there,

According to the Docusign team, "It's unlikely the status of an envelope is incorrect. The customer is most likely just doing something wrong. If they can provide the envelope ID i can take a look at the status it is currently in. But they would need to provide an API log (https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=jux1643235969954&topicId=poz1578456669909.html&_LANG=enus&language=en_US&rsc_301) of the issue being reproduced that proves the envelope is in an incorrect status to troubleshoot further. It may be faster to contact their team directly with the API log. You can email them directly at developers@docusign.com being that we are heading into the weekend. Good luck!
